Whisperings of May

May 30, 2015

A few weeks ago I had the super exciting opportunity to collaborate with, Elizabeth of Elizabeth Lauren Photography, to bring you this fun, vintage inspired photo shoot! Elizabeth was a blast to work with, and our sweet friends were kind enough to allow us to use their beautiful property and vintage car! As a photographer myself, I can't stop admiring the composition, editing and the way Elizabeth captured the light - so perfect!

China Blue

Girls, I went thrift shopping yesterday... and I did some damage. Good Will holds a special place in my heart. I'm all about snagging a good deal, and the thrift store is chock full of them! I'm thinking about filming a try- on haul, what do you think?

These pants, these pants! I am so excited about them. I don't often find a pair that I like enough to swap out for a skirt on occasion, but these are just the right balance of pretty and functional. I admit, when I ordered them from Romwe, I was a bit concerned that they would be too small (I don't like buying pants online). I was pleasantly surprised to find that they fit perfectly! Best part? They are on sale for $13 right now!

I've had a new thing for blazers as of late. I love how polished and sophisticated they make an outfit! This white blazer from CN Direct has already been worn it's fair share - I took it along with me to Boston this Spring. It is such a great staple piece!

New Horizons

So by this point you may be wondering, "why in the world is Alex selling so many clothes?" First of all, thank you for making the flash sale awesome! I had so much finding new homes for some of my old vintage pieces. If you are sad you missed out, fret not! I still have a bunch of pieces posted on Facebook and Instagram

So the big question again, "why?" Ladies, I'm moving to Virginia this August! I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend college back east, and I needed to raise a little bit of money for tuition. Now to answer the second question that I have been asked quite a bit, yes, I will still be blogging outfits! I love Into the Woods and the amazing blogging community. I am looking forward to sharing my VA adventures with you girls!

Now let's talk fashion, after all, that is why you clicked on this post right? I am collaborating again with Romwe, a super affordable site to score some trendy fashion deals. I am loving this top for it's versatility. The black is bold, but is offset with a touch of feminine lace. I have to say, I think this one will be making a re-appearance in the future with my well-loved, leather jacket, Tilly (yup I named it).

Mind Blown

Today I have a super fun collab to share with you from Karina Dresses! I'm not gonna lie- I've already worn this dress quite a few times before posting pics up on the blog. I am in LOVE with this dress! Let me tell you why-  it's adorable, it's ridiculously comfy (I'm still wearing it from the shoot at 1:00 AM), and (wait for it) it doesn't wrinkle #mindblown. I took this dress on my trip to Boston to test Karina Dresses' claims of a wrinkle-free frock, and gals, no joke... I wore it for eight hours on a plane and not a single wrinkle. Oh yes! And it has pockets ;)

Float Awaayyyy!

Surprise! I didn't die- just got a little behind schedule, but better now than never right? Shaking things up today with a Thursday outfit post ;) Thank you to everyone who participated in the flash sale yesterday! It was a great success, and so much fun! I'm planning to do another one next weekend, but am continuing to sell the pieces still listed on my IG account and FB page, so stop by if you missed the sale yesterday! If you don't know, I am parting with a bunch of my vintage pieces for super cheap (nothing over $50) because, Lord willing, I am leaving for college in the Fall, and can't take them along with me.

On another note, I have the super fun task of creating beautiful DIY's for We Can Package, and loved this one so much that I just had to share it with you gals! Seriously, could this balloon be much bigger? The project is really easy to do- just watch this video to learn how to make your own ivy balloon string!
