Life's an Hourglass

Well, today I am flying back to California! I am so excited to share more about my adventures here in Minnesota with all of you! But first, I think some settling back in is in order :) On a completely separate note, I am taking my long overdue driving test tomorrow- I only get one chance before my permit expires, so fingers crossed-eee!!

This cute little 1950s Summer dress is from Alicks & Raflin. I am obsessed with this Etsy shop- oh my goodness! So many amazing vintage pieces! This dress is so comfy and cute for the warm weather- plus it's pink, which I believe, speaks for itself ;)

I never fail to fall head over heels for A Pocket of Whimsy. Every piece of jewelry is purely amazing. This Etsy shop is one of my absolute favorites of all time. One of the things I love about this piece, is that it's brass color allows it to match well with any outfit- the versatility is wonderful! And, as always, I must compliment Alexis on her adorable packaging- some of you may have seen my Instagram post- way too cute right?

Can I just say, it's been much too long since I've worn a pair of cute, new shoes on the blog? My shoe size makes it difficult to find different pairs, so I always end up wearing the same cognac and black flats from Payless. I have been longing for a pair of red shoes for some time now, and these lovelies from Frenchie York are just so adorable! What I love is that they are customizable by size, heel height and color- win, win! And I can't forget to mention they are real leather, which is always a nice change from synthetics.

Fairest of the Fair

I'm going to give your girls a fair warning here- cotton candy as a photo prop- not as lovely during the shoot as it is to eat :-p Let's be honest, photos take time, especially in a populated area with photo bombers (ahem- yes, personal experience haha). And cotton candy, I have discovered, loves to drip and melt all over the place and diminish in size substantially by the end of the shoot. First picture- huge, ginormous puff of candy- every other picture- not quite so ginormous and puffy. So, if you were about to look through these and think, "Wow, did that cotton candy shrink?" your observations will now be affirmed :)

I would venture to say that this will be the funnest part of this post. I put together this little video for your gals. Press play, and get ready with me for the county fair! If you haven't already, be sure and subscribe to me on YouTube to keep up with all of my videos!

A Blustery Day

The title for this post is no joke! I think this shoot was one of the windiest yet! Of course, as you girls can probably imagine- wind and floppy hats don't make the best of friends- haha! Never the less, we were still able to capture a few shots that don't look too wind blown.

I am sure some of you noticed, I am wearing pants! I've worn some jeans on the blog about two times in the past, which was a big step for me (no judging ;). So I feel like a pair of pretty, vintage palazzo pants are a bit more my speed. Palazzo pants have literally been my Summer trend obsession this year- I love them! I just think they are the prettiest things. My pair is from The Black Market Vintage

I have some very exciting news! In just a couple of days I will be flying out to Minnesota! I've been putting aside money for some time now, and can hardly believe that I am going. It's surreal really- I love to travel, but get to so rarely. This year on the other hand has been laced with so many exciting opportunities and adventures. I feel so very blessed.

I am hoping to be doing one or two outfit shoots while I am there- but rest assured, I've gotten ahead on Cali shoots to cover the time while I am away ;) I also have some fun plans for my YouTube channel while I am gone- so be sure and subscribe to me there to keep up with any new updates!

A Dose of Nostalgia

There is a nagging voice in my head that keeps saying I should have named this post- In the Squash Fields... yeah, no- I am totally kidding- haha! But in all reality, we stumbled upon this little squash field while location hunting this week. I saw this sign and thought- yup, this is the place! The squash were of an unidentifiable nature- too round and tubby to be zucchinis. Any ideas? There's a picture near the end of this post- make your best guess!

Miss Sydney of Sydney's Vintage sent this lovely dress to me as a gift. She picked it out herself, and I must say, she managed to match my taste perfectly! I wanted to snap some pictures in it, to say thank you <3

Right there!! ^^^ Any ideas as to the mysterious squash caper? My curiosity is growing... rapidly ;-p
