Hello, Lovelies! This may arguably be one of my most exciting posts this year, thus far. Some of you may have seen my social media mention of some big news. Well, to me it is anyways- I'm not getting engaged anytime soon, I didn't get a new job- we'll just cross off the norm questions and get to the point.

I designed this dress! This Spring I have been working with Melissa Mason of The Frock Closet to produce a piece from one of my sketches. Melissa did such an insanely incredible job of making my vision come to life. She literally looked at my sketch and made the dress look exactly like my drawing- she's uh-mazing <3 On top of it all, her seamstress work turned out impeccable- there is such a wonderful attention to detail here. Every seam is finished, and my grandma remarked that the hem was perfectly even.

The fabric we used is a lovely, pink floral cotton from A Garden of Roses. I spent several hours searching for the perfect material and after landing on this one, knew it was perfect! If you are looking to do a sewing project and need unique, fabulous quality fabrics, A Garden of Roses is really a great place to check out. I had an amazing customer service experience and highly recommend them. For the trim on the dress, Melissa found this stunning fuchsia pink silk.

If you love this dress as much as Melissa and I do, you can order it from her shop! Best part? You can pick your own fabrics for a custom version!

Michelle of Michy Lou handmade this belt to match this dress- can you believe she did such a perfect job just from looking at a picture!? I love it because it has such a classic 1950s look- it makes such a perfect addition to the dress.

This clutch is another amazing piece from Lost in Time Inc. There is always such quality in Sherry's work- from the inside of the handbag to the details on the outside- utter perfection. It is made from gorgeous silk dupioni, and can be made in several different colors for special events.

Summer's Eve Makeup Tutorial

Happy Sunday all! Today I thought I'd share an easy, Spring to Summer transition makeup look. I made this video half as long as the last one (yea!!) and there are some improved zoom shots so you can see what I am doing a little easier. Excuse the lighting in the first and last scenes- I changed the camera settings so everything looks really yellow- still figuring all this stuff out! Anywhoo- hope you enjoy!

Soiree at Gatsby's

Morning, Sunshines! I hope your week has been magical <3 Today I'm bring you all another 1920's themed outfit ( promise, I still LOVE the 50s- just wanting to shake things up a bit ;) Speaking of which, I finally got my hands on a copy of  The Great Gatsby- Summer reading, here I come!

This lovely dress is another piece from The House of Recollections collection- Thongbai surprised me with this little dress along with the yellow frock I styled a bit ago. It is so beautiful- I knew it needed the full flapper ensemble to really show it's Gatsby-ness :)

What glamorous flapper look is complete without a feather headband dripping with crystals? This beautiful headpiece is from Brides Boutik. I think this would be so pretty for a 20's themed party, or even a wedding.

The Show Must Go On

1920s style, great gastby, flapper costume, theater style, 1950s, vintage, into the woods, style blogger IMG_9107

Happy (early) Wednesday! As I write this, it is 12:30 am here- this is what happens when I forget to write up my posts until hours before they are supposed to go live- ahhhhh!!!!! Now if only I can keep my eyes open long enough to write this ;)

I had some fun mixing pieces from different eras to create a 1920s look this week. This darling sweater is from an insanely amazing Etsy shop called, Roselein Rarities. This is one of those Etsy shops that you just can't get enough of- there is always a plethora of gorgeous things in stock- can you say kid in a candy store? This sweater is actually a 1950s piece- I adore the details- from the sweet collar to the darling ribbon bow.

Deanna of Keep Drawer sent me this darling little beaded purse as a gift a few months back- from the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew it would have to make it's way into one of my shoots ;)

On a completely random note- I will have a makeup tutorial coming your way within the next two weeks! Don't worry- I made this vlog half the amount of time as the first one, and I figured out some ways to really improve my filming.
