Put Your Records On

January 30, 2014

Can this be considered fashionably late? Yesterday was the official post day for this outfit, but for some reason I was thrown a little out of whack this week. At any rate, I have an outfit for you today!

This 1950s sundress is a recent find from an adorable Etsy shop called Our Town Vintage. There are so many gorgeous pieces in this shop! I am especially smitten with the adorable shoes they stock, alongside clothing and other vintage trinkets. This dress is definitely a Summer frock, but it was easy enough to transform it for cooler weather with a jean jacket from Nstyle Vintage. Be sure and keep your eye out because in a little while, there will be a fabulous giveaway coming your way from Nstyle!

I discovered the ever incredible, Holdenism a few weeks ago- the, in my personal opinion, ultimate hub for vintage eye wear. I absolutely love 1950s cat eye glasses- they are so classically retro. Plus, these are the prettiest shade of baby blue- I couldn't help but be amazed when I found them.

My love of these shoes- how can I count the ways! Haha- in all seriousness, they are mint blue, 1960s and in my size ( a rarity, I assure you). They were sent to my courtesy of Keep Drawer- an amazing vintage shop that delivers beautiful products and amazing customer service. Deanna is so helpful- if you have any questions, she is always right on top of things, and works with you to find the item you are looking for!

One final detail! I was super excited when Onecklace asked me to style one of their adorable sterling silver monogram necklaces. There are so many styles to choose from- they make incredible gifts ( just in time for V-day ;). Plus they are extremely versatile- I love how it matches with whatever I wear!

It Glistens Like Gold

January 22, 2014

Happy Wednesday Lovelies! It's sunny as ever here in So Cal- this entire week has been in the 70's and 80's! I am so grateful to have this little haven in the midst of Winter- it's so unusual, even for here, but I have no complaints. Winter weather is good for me in the few weeks prior to Christmas and then I'm content with the sunshine- haha!

Now that I'm done giving the weather forecast ( I realize I do that a lot ;), let's talk vintage. This dress is the first 1940's piece I have ever owned. It was sent to me, courtesy of Kodachrome Nostalgia. Oh my word, I seriously love this vintage hub- the items for sale are all so beautiful, and the shop's overall feel is so clean and professional. Right now I am loving their gorgeous coats and dresses, and this amazing straw hat from the 1950s- definitely take a moment to stop by and look- it's so much fun to browse these incredible pieces.

Let me just take a moment to say- I am in LOVE with Mac's Russian Red Lipstick. I have been searching for the perfect red for several years, and I have finally found it. The texture is perfect- it has a matte look, but the feel of a satin. And the color is pure genius- not to orange, not to blue and just the right balance of dark and bright. Definitely recommending this product!!

This adorable little hat/headband is from a lovely Etsy shop called Eye Heart Me. If you are vintage hat lover, than you know how tricky it is to find affordable vintage reproduction hats. This pretty little beret costs only $28 and comes in seven different colors! The detailing is so beautiful as well- I love the crystal brooch with the feather accents. I am wearing the beige.

I am guest posting a DIY over at Eccentric Owl today, so if you are in a crafty mood, swing on by!

Those Days With Clouds

January 15, 2014

Gah- can I just say, how much a hate shooting pictures on overcast days? Haha- it's petty, but I just don't like dealing with setting exposure when it's cloudy- the camera gets so finicky! I was a little backed into a corner this go around though- Sunday was the only time I had available to shoot these pictures, and unfortunately, it was, cloudy. So these weren't the sunny shots I had in mind, but I hope you all will enjoy them anyway!

Isn't this dress fun? I found it at Bobbles & Bling Vintage, (by the way, there is some seriously adorable stuff in this Etsy shop right now- one page down and I found a beautiful, vintage hat, and a really cute yellow telephone to name a few, both of which are still available). This 1950s dress is a sort of dotted swiss organza- it really is one of those gems that you find once in a blue moon. The back is what really gets me- I love the v-cut and little bows- such a sweet detail!

Something exciting happened this week! Any of you who follow me on social media probably has already heard about this, but Into the Woods was featured on BangStyle! They said some really sweet things, and I am so honored to have been included in their blogger "roundup"

I am so in love with this handmade hat from Greetz From Tiz! It's based on a 1940s pattern and can be purchased in pink or white. For you girls who love  a pretty vintage topper, this one is super well made and sells for only $19!

By the way, do you ladies remember that orange floral dress I wore back in December? Well there's an exact replica newly listed in the Mable Rose shop! If you were wanting to snag it, now's your chance! It's listed at $36 so it's a real steal!

After being under the weather last week, it's good to be back in the swing of things with an outfit post! It's funny because I was sick this past Thanksgiving, and as soon as I started feeling something coming on this last week, I was not a happy camper! I try and do my best to look happy in pictures when I'm down with a cold ( I always get a sore throat), but it would seem I have a low pain tolerance- pathetic right? Haha!

This dress is from the ever incredible, Deomas Boutique, an uh-mazing Etsy shop filled to the brim with drop dead gorgeous vintage frocks. Every dress is beyond beautiful, and party ready! This particular dress is a pink, 1950s cotton number that's comfortable, yet fancy- I owe this feature to the beautiful embroidery and scalloped sweetheart neckline/hem.

How fun are these shoes? I had the privilege, this week, to style a gorgeous pair of crystal satin kitten heels from Paris XOX. The moment I received these in the mail and opened the package, my breath was taken away. I am, undoubtedly, crazy about all things that sparkle, and these are the most glittery little Loves ever- from the brooch on the toe, to the trail of crystals down the heel. Best of all, Paris XOX shoes are custom dyed and hand embellished, so every pair is made perfect for your event. If you love the color I am wearing, and want to pick up a pair of your own, you can find them here in ballet pink.
