Lady in Red

Nothing like rushing to catch the last minutes of light, right? Photo shoots are fascinating things - they are fun to create, but so much work goes into them, and timing the light correctly is always interesting to say the least. This showstopper dress is another piece from Romwe. I may have had a tad too much fun playing with the skirt on this one.

It has been so insanely hot here this past week. On Monday my car's thermostat read 121 F! Talk about living in an oven, amiright?

A Little Journey

May 24, 2016

light-2 light

Life is a crazy thing - it's a roller coaster, changing minute by minute. You never know what will be around the next bend, drop or curve. Sometimes this translates as excitement in our lives, other times dread. Either way, the change is inevitable.

I've had a lot of changes in my life lately, though I am happy to say most of them have been beautiful and lovely. As most of you know, I took a leap and flew across the country last year to attend college in Virginia. I fell in love with the state; the culture, the laid back attitude, the woods - real woods. And I met the love of my life. Who I am happy to announce, I am now engaged to! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and adventure buddy, and to grow in the Lord together. I've learned things this past year - I've changed. I have new perspectives on things and I've learned to embrace independence wholeheartedly. There have been tears shed from missing my family, being sick countless times and hours spent studying math (no, I haven't learned to love equations just yet).

With all of this said, it's been a busy year. Every minute was filled with hard work, adventure and (much needed) sleep. Many of you have probably wondered why I fell off the face of the earth, and why my posts have grown more and more sporadic. Let's get this out there right off the bat - I still enjoy blogging and I am still continuing to blog! I am currently in the process of re-branding, and I am hoping in about a years time, I will be able to reveal all of the changes that will be taking place around here. Be rest assured, I'll be throwing out little sneak peeks and hints here and there ;) In the meantime things will continue on like they used to around here, just a bit less often than in the old days. Quality over quantity folks!

On a more fun note, this dress I am wearing is from Romwe. I've been crazy about the color blue this year. I took a digital fashion design course for my merchandising minor this past semester, and my designs were all centered around various shades of china blue. This dress is so perfect for Summer - light, breezy and let's be honest; the halter neckline is gorgeous.

One of my favorite places on the planet is the city of San Diego. It's a place very dear to my heart, and I love spending time there whenever I get the chance! We recently got to explore Little Italy, which has been on my to-do list for a while now. One of my favorite places on this Italian inspired street, was a super unique dessert place. Basically, you choose your meringue shell, choose a gelato to fill it with and any toppings or crunch you want inside. To eat it, you break the shell with the end of the spoon. Girls, I'm not gonna lie- literally the best dessert I've ever had!

What is Summer without a pair of Palazzo pants? This is a style that his been growing on me ever since it became a trend. There is something so lovely about mixing the chicness of the runway with the comfort of pj's. What do you girl's think? Any favorite trends right now?

In other news, strep throat has hit campus hard this week, and I was lucky enough to pick it up (yippeee)! Ladies - it's miserable, let me tell you. I want to badly to be better haha!

Well, it's official! Right now I am on a plane to VA! I'm feeling such a mix of emotions, but more than anything I'm so excited to see what adventures lie ahead.

I thought I'd show you girls a casual Summer outfit option - it has been so crazy hot in Cali over the past week or so. This blue button down is from Dresslink. I love the classic chambray spiced up with some polka dots and lace. And it retails at $7, so you can't beat that! I paired it with these shorts, which if you can believe, I found at Walmart of all places. I love them! I only wish they had more colors in my size.

Morning, Sunshines! It's another sunny, So Cal Wednesday, and I'm off to the beach for a little fun before getting down to the nitty gritty of college packing. Only three more weeks, can you believe it!?

Today I am featuring this beautiful floral dress from Romwe. I converted it to a high low hem temporarily, and am thinking of having a friend help me make it permanent - I love the look! Wouldn't this be so pretty for a garden party?

I am featuring a new company today, called DressLink! They were kind enough to send me this poppin' pink clutch, and I must say, I am in love. How great is that color with the gold accent? #somuchlove! This beauty comes in every color imaginable, and is only $4.75!

Showstopper

Have you ever found a necklace, or a dress, or perhaps even a crazy hat that you knew was completely impractical, yet you went nuts over it anyway? A few weeks ago at the fair, I found these stunning chandelier earrings and fell in love. I told myself I would make an outfit for them if need be - I mean come on, they steal the show!

I am so excited to have joined the ambassadors program with Karina Dresses! I'll be featuring one of their stunning frocks on the blog once a month, which means you girls will get a great look at what adorable pieces they have in stock! I featured another Karina Dress a few months back and talked about how much I loved it - this dress is no exception! It truly is like wearing a comfy pajama dress. Plus, my favorite feature? It doesn't wrinkle! #somuchlove This particular dress is on sale right now, so be sure to snag it before it's gone!

This adorable wallet is from 10 Dollar Mall, an online clothing and accessory company where nothing costs over $10! I've been needing a new wallet desperately ( my other one is probably around eight years old), and I adore the sophisticated look of this little purse.

Oh, I almost forgot! I recently whitened my teeth and wrote a blog post all about it - if you are curious about my process, you can check that out here.
