2017: LOOKING AHEAD

BREAKING RETROSPECT
It's 2017. It's a new year, which means everyone is busy creating laundry lists of resolutions. In reality, while resolutions are inspiring to come up with, and at first, exciting to execute, most end up taking backseat to everything else. I have some personal goals for 2017, but I'm not making resolutions this go 'round. Putting less emphasis on expectations, and more on living. True, honest to goodness life. I want to take in moments, but hold them with an open hand. I want to go on far off adventures, and be wise enough to see the ones right in front of me. Below I've gathered a list of upcoming events in 2017.

- 11 weddings booked currently. I can't wait to see all of the beautiful brides & grooms, and cry behind my camera while they say their crazy, sweet vows.
- Tying the knot with my own handsome charmer
- Embarking on Junior year in college (eesh, where did that time go?)
- Renting my first ever apartment with Jon. I somehow have to figure out how to decorate more than just one wall.
- Hosting a wedding photography workshop at Liberty. Does it get much more fun than talking photography once a week?

Keeping things simple for now. Let's see what God has in store.

THE PRESS

California is ridden with incredible third-wave coffee shops and funky little restaurants. Whenever I come back to visit family, I like to try and hit a few new places. Jenna and I met up today and made a trip to The Press Espresso for some coffee and some time to catch up. We were not disappointed! Between the amazing display, and fantastic coffee, The Press is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Whether he'd like to admit it or not, Jonathan can actually be pretty picky about what he wears. I love buying clothes for him (perhaps to a fault), but I have to put a lot of time into finding things that he'll like. My guidlines are usually - keep things simple, masculine and earth toned. Jon's not a big accessory guy, unless you're talking about watches. He wears one every day without fail, and slowly but surely has been adding to his collection. The most recent addition is this stunning sandalwood watch from JORD Wood Watches. Both of us are really big fans of natural wood, and when this watch arrived in the mail, both of our reactions were, "Whoah." This watch is simply gorgeous - I'm hoping he wears it all of the time ;). JORD is still offering Christmas delivery, so if you're on a last minute hunt for your guy, you might want to stop over here. Oh, and as you can see, the packaging is perfection, so no need to worry about wrapping! While your at it, if you're anything like me, you just may be tempted to pick up a little present for yourself ;). JORD was kind enough to offer all Into the Woods followers a gift card toward any purchase - to redeem, just click here to shop!

The Dorm

Welcome to my dorm! Yeah, it's more like an apartment, at least this one where I'm living at right now. On-campus life is fun and thriving, but it also means tight living space, and often the need to cram books and clothes everywhere. One of the things I love about my dorm this semester, is the fact that we have a living room, so there's more space to set up pretty things. If you're wondering, most all of my decor is thrifted (becoming a new favorite pass time of mine).

It's starting to get cold in VA, which means it's officially sweater weather. Back in Cali we would say that when it was 60 degrees outside. Here, when I say sweater, I mean "give me the biggest, warmest darn sweater in my closet." I do not, I repeat - do not like the cold. I picked this sweater up from Zaful so that I would have something nice and toasty to wear when I'm editing pictures. Gotta say, it doesn't disappoint. The material is so nice and thick, it feels like I'm just wearing a comfy,  knit blanket. Zaful has great, college budget-friendly prices, so if you are wanting to add a few new pieces to your wardrobe, you can visit their FB page here.  They also have a great Pinterest board for outfit inspiration!
