California is ridden with incredible third-wave coffee shops and funky little restaurants. Whenever I come back to visit family, I like to try and hit a few new places. Jenna and I met up today and made a trip to The Press Espresso for some coffee and some time to catch up. We were not disappointed! Between the amazing display, and fantastic coffee, The Press is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

I'm pretty excited because I finally found a wedding band for Jonathan! We spent a lot of time searching for the right one together, and believe it or not, he actually was pretty particular. I sent him so many links, but nothing stood out to him until we found this one. This stunning piece from Urban Jule is made from sterling silver. It incorporates the hammered metal look that Jon loves, while still looking sleek and classic. I just can't wait to put it on his finger officially :)

It's frigid in Virginia right now. But I'm cozy with my family back in California. Another semester has come to a close, and I find my entire body taking a deep breath so to speak. A break from constant deadlines is so refreshing. There's still work I have to get done, but at least I'm on my own schedule now.
Christmas is everywhere. Flying over the states this week, I noticed the landscape looking extra glimmery. I realized that the cities and neighborhoods were glittering with holiday lights. I love this time of year. To think I can travel 2,500 miles and I will still be surrounded by the same music, decorations and glow.
This outfit will give you a pretty good idea of what I wear on any given photo session. It's getting a bit chilly to not be sporting a big coat of some kind, but in the Fall and early Winter, I like to keep things casual and comfy. This jacket is another piece I picked up from Romwe. It's been one of my favorites for everything from casual outings to campouts and hikse. I paired it with my absolute favorite necklace from Pan and Tea ( my daily go to), and a few pieces I've had since Summer.

HEY SIRThere's something about wool ties - the texture, the feel. These ties are unique, which is something Jonathan and I are all about. Jon's Hey Sir ties have served as the perfect touch for dressy winter outings. Just saying, these would make some pretty fun stocking stuffers for your dapper gent, if you're looking for last minute ideas!

Lynchburg is a small little city. And for the most part, there's not a lot here. But now, after my second year of living here, I will say this - there are some really rad, local businesses scattered throughout downtown. Speakertree is a fun, hopping gem with a really great atmosphere. Often they'll have local artists come and play in shop for events. The walls are lined with amazing records - it makes me want to find a record player and start a collection.
A look I'm really loving for this Winter is a dark colored choker sweater. It's been one of my favorite looks since it gives the illusion of wearing a choker, while still being able to throw on some of my other jewelry pieces. This particular sweater is from Zaful - a recent favorite of mine.

A few weeks ago I went with my friend Jess to a local fair called Vintage Lynchburg. It was a downtown event where vendors set up and sold their handmade gifts. One of the places that really caught my eye was a jewelry biz called PanandTea. I love unique jewelry, and I am super picky about the pieces I purchase. I had the hardest time choosing at their booth because all of their designs are beyond gorgeous. Definitely check them out on Etsy- you won't be sorry! You can find the necklace I am wearing here.
It is getting so cold here in VA! Today was 22 degrees, which was not jivin' with me. You northerners are laughing at me - I know, it's sad. What can I say? I'm a freeze baby all the way. I decided to style this outfit with my black denim jacket from Romwe. I love the texture this jacket adds - usually I'm sporting leather so it's a welcome change! I'm looking forward to pairing it with some of my dresses in the Spring.

Whether he'd like to admit it or not, Jonathan can actually be pretty picky about what he wears. I love buying clothes for him (perhaps to a fault), but I have to put a lot of time into finding things that he'll like. My guidlines are usually - keep things simple, masculine and earth toned. Jon's not a big accessory guy, unless you're talking about watches. He wears one every day without fail, and slowly but surely has been adding to his collection. The most recent addition is this stunning sandalwood watch from JORD Wood Watches. Both of us are really big fans of natural wood, and when this watch arrived in the mail, both of our reactions were, "Whoah." This watch is simply gorgeous - I'm hoping he wears it all of the time ;). JORD is still offering Christmas delivery, so if you're on a last minute hunt for your guy, you might want to stop over here. Oh, and as you can see, the packaging is perfection, so no need to worry about wrapping! While your at it, if you're anything like me, you just may be tempted to pick up a little present for yourself ;). JORD was kind enough to offer all Into the Woods followers a gift card toward any purchase - to redeem, just click here to shop!
