Alright, I admit, this post is a little out of season... for most everywhere. But here in So Cal it's been beach weather for weeks! I can't even believe how amazing and strange it is. Though, of course, the one day I figure " Let's do pictures at the beach!" it was freeeeeezing cold- haha! Well I use that term loosely I suppose. It wouldn't have seemed so chilly if I had been wearing a jacket and tights- it really was just poor preparation on my part. I need to start checking the weather forecast before I put together outfits-haha!
I am so in love with this dress from Nova Vintage. Even though it is a 1970s number, I adore the 1950s feel of it. Actually, it reminds me a lot of something you would pick up at ModCloth. The sweet checkered lawn cotton is so pretty for Spring and Summer, and the cut of the dress is so unique. Best of all? It has a circle skirt ( though, I don't advise trying to wear a circle skirt on super cold windy day- lots of Marilyn moments :( Nova Vintage is offering Into the Woods readers 20% off your next purchase with the code "NOVAWOODS"
For a brief moment- I want to ramble about Nylon scarves. Lately, I have been obsessed with them. Once you get the hang of tying them, the possibilities are really endless. If you are wanting to delve into the nylon scarf world, Totally Scarves is an awesome place to find some bundles for super cheap. Some are sold in lots of 3-4 so you get a bunch of different colors to play with. Also, if you are looking to do scarf hairdos, I definitely recommend nylon over cotton or silk. It it stretchy and clings really well, which is good when you are tucking and all of that good stuff :) I am hoping to be posting a tutorial before Valentines Day on how to tie it Rosie the Riveter style so keep an eye out!
Hehe- yup, couldn't resist sharing this little guy's mini photo session. Isn't he the cutest? He bounded up all happy to check out what we were doing and we just had to snap a quick photo or two ;)
