Newspaper Nails

November 26, 2011

Ever get tired of monochromatic nails? Then try this simple tip to spice up your polish.

Just take some white nail polish and evenly coat your nails. Be sure that it is very dry before continuing. Take a newspaper and cut out ten pieces, a bit larger than your nail. Pour rubbing alcohol over a nail and immediately press a piece of newspaper down on it, holding it there for at least 30 seconds. Pull the newspaper off carefully. Repeat these steps on all of the nails. You can have even more fun with this by finding words or pictures you really like. Or try a piece of newspaper with color. Have fun!

Easy-Sew Shorts

November 21, 2011

Well, I promised I would post pictures of what I did with the things from the big sale a while ago. These are the pictures of the pinstriped pants I bought. I made them into shorts. The belt is removable, and I will post directions on how to make it another time.

Holiday Evening Wear

Here are some ideas for that fancy occasion. Keep things elegant and simple with touches of black. Add some sparkle with jewelry and top it off with a pop of color.

Verse to Encourage You

November 13, 2011

1 Timothy 2:9-10
I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

Basic Sewing

November 10, 2011

This is a very basic instructional for making the dress I posted a while ago. There are no measurements in this instructional.

Take a large piece of fabric.

Fold the fabric in two so that both rough edges are on one side and the fold on the other.

Sew the rough ends together.

Hem the bottom and top of the tube of fabric.

Cut out 2 pieces of rectangle shaped fabric and sew down rough edges on the side you want to face inside.

Cut out 2 triangle shaped pieces of coordinating fabric. Sew the rough edges down of the side you want to face inside.

Sew straps onto dress. The triangle shaped ones go in the front and the rectangle in the back.
Turn right side out and voila!

Finish off with a belt to give the dress shape :-D

Blogger statement: Among bloggers, this community has always been very supportive. But with blogger-bashing sites like, GOMI and other online forums, bloggers today are facing a lot of criticism. Bloggers are real, living, breathing people. We have normal every day lives. Even though the life that is portrayed on blogs is often a deviation from reality, we still know what it is to go through hard times. Is it such a crime to have one place in this world where people can talk about happy and beautiful things?

With that said, I would also like to make a note to any skeptics. All of my reviews ( sponsored or not) are 100% honest. I would never lower myself to a level of writing anything false or that I did not support. One of my primary reasons for being open to sponsorship is supporting entrepreneurs. l I have a real heart for entrepreneurs, as I am a small business owner myself.
